The group provides door-to-door transport services for disabled and older people in Caerphilly who are unable to use public transport. The award will pay for a 33-seater, wheelchair accessible coach. The organisation will be able to carry bigger groups for longer journeys in greater comfort. Groups will be able to go on holiday, at reasonable cost, throughout the UK.
"Thanks to our grant we have been able to start up our new holiday service for disabled passengers and older people. Our specially built coach is fitted with a passenger lift and lowering suspension to aid access, as well as facilities for wheelchair passengers once on board. This vehicle has already been used on dozens of day trips to local attractions. We hope to provide longer breaks and eventually to offer continental trips. " (Gary Hyatt)
