The Communications Directorate supports the Charities Board�s grant-making
activity by ensuring that our audiences understand a number of key messages
about the organisation.

Our audiences include:
- The voluntary sector

- The Lottery-playing public
- Government, Parliament and the other Lottery distributors

The communications department carries out a number of key functions:
- Design and development of the Charities Board�s website and the Intranet
- Grants announcements for UK, International and Health and social research
(England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland announcements are made at country
level.)
- Provides press desk for national and voluntary sector media
- Produces Resource - a quarterly newsletter aimed at the voluntary sector
- Lobbying key opinion-formers
- Production of application packs for all grants programmes
- Production of Annual Report
- Production of information in other formats and languages
- Project management of marketing projects, such as the launch of Awards
for All
- Production of all information leaflets and flyers
- Management of corporate events and attendance at third party events
- Grants acknowledgement and publicity materials for successful applicants
- Commissioning and managing corporate photo library
