Communications

The Communications Directorate supports the Charities Board�s grant-making activity by ensuring that our audiences understand a number of key messages about the organisation.

Our audiences include:

  • The voluntary sector
  • Potential and successful applicants
  • The Lottery-playing public
  • Government, Parliament and the other Lottery distributors
  • the media and other opinion-formers

The communications department carries out a number of key functions:

  • Design and development of the Charities Board�s website and the Intranet
  • Grants announcements for UK, International and Health and social research (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland announcements are made at country level.)
  • Provides press desk for national and voluntary sector media
  • Produces Resource - a quarterly newsletter aimed at the voluntary sector
  • Lobbying key opinion-formers
  • Production of application packs for all grants programmes
  • Production of Annual Report
  • Production of information in other formats and languages
  • Project management of marketing projects, such as the launch of Awards for All
  • Production of all information leaflets and flyers
  • Management of corporate events and attendance at third party events
  • Grants acknowledgement and publicity materials for successful applicants
  • Commissioning and managing corporate photo library
