Tools for Self Reliance
This group, based in Northampton, were awarded £22,500 over three years. The grant will pay for two part-time staff, a computer, office equipment and other related costs to set up a workshop enabling volunteers with learning difficulties to refurbish tools. The project will provide opportunities for personal development through volunteering and team working including involvement in planning all aspects of the charity�s work, as well as practical work experience.
Shree Girnara Soni Samaj
This group runs a community centre providing social, cultural and educational activities for the Asian community in Leicester. They were awarded £154,283 over three years to refurbish and improve disabled access to the building and to recruit a Development Officer and administrator. These new workers will support and develop the centre�s current work, helping to recruit and train more volunteers and extending the range of activities on offer.
