Teesside Play and Education Resource Centre
Awarded £165,742
This organisation collects recycled materials, donated by local companies, for use in play and education by local voluntary groups. The three year grant pays for equipment, training costs, and three extra staff, so that the centre can open for longer hours and provide equipment to more groups.
The Percy Hedley Centre
Awarded £480,000
A North Tyneside based centre providing facilities for children and adults with cerebral palsy and communication difficulties in the region. The grant contributes to the costs of constructing and fitting out a new £1 million building - the Chipchase Activity Centre, which will provide social, recreational and therapy facilities for adults with cerebral palsy.
South Bank Women's Centre
Awarded £47,225
A newly acquired drop-in centre in Middlesbrough, which offers training courses and a creche, was awarded a grant to contribute to three full time staff salaries, training, equipment, minor refurbishments, and office and building running costs.
Drift Permaculture Project
Awarded £46,000
This project provides learning and outreach activities to build skills and confidence within local communities, through the use of a community garden site. The grant will pay for a co-ordinator, an event / workshop organiser, and running costs, over three years.
