Welcome to the National Lottery Charities Board's Wales Office
Our office is in the heart of Mid Wales at Newtown, Powys. Decentralisation has enabled us to be accessible to people from all over Wales. We cover the whole of Wales which includes all 22 Local Authorities and 2.93 million people. Wales is a diverse country with a strong sense of cultural identity. We offer a number of grant programmes to suit different organisations and projects. Click here for Applications and Publications.
Awards by the Wales Committee have ranged from 500 to small local groups to over 850,000 for long term or large scale projects. Although there is currently no upper limit, from Spring 2001 it is likely that we will only make awards of over 300,000 in exceptional circumstances. The average grant size in Wales is 97,000. Up to October 2000 groups in Wales had benefited from 2,936 grants totalling over 100,000,000. This means that approximately 35 has been awarded to each person living in Wales.
No geographical areas of Wales are given priority over others for grant giving but we are aware that some regions are not sending in as many applications as others. Equally if your county has been very successful this does not mean that we will not consider new applications from your area. Click here for Key Statistics for Wales to see how many groups we have funded in your region.
Our staff will be happy to help you if you want more information on our current grant programmes, eligibility and Wales priorities. We run outreach seminars and presentations on our grant programmes and how to apply. If you require further assistance or individual advice, your local CVS may be able to help you. Ring us for further details.
