Welcome to the National Lottery Charities Board West Midlands Office
The West Midlands Regional Office (WMRO) is based in Birmingham, and covers
the six counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire,
Worcestershire and the West Midlands metropolitan area. Over half of the West
Midlands region�s 5.3 million population lives in the multicultural metropolitan
area. The West Midlands is one of the most manufacturing dependent regions and
also has large rural areas.
By September 1999 more than �104 million had been awarded to 1,784 organisations
across the region. Grants have ranged from �500 for vital play equipment for
a playgroup to over �500,000 to a voluntary service council set up to provide
support and advice to community groups. The average grant size is �140,000 for
the main grants programme and �3,341 for the Awards for All programme. (See West Midlands Focus for more information).
Potential applicants can use the following services provided by the WMRO to
help them submit an application:
- Eligibility checks - send your constitution/articles of memorandum/rules
to the Regional Development Officer
- Helpline service - Grants staff operate a helpline service from
9.00am - 1.00pm, Mon-Fri for organisations to discuss eligibility, funding
criteria and their project ideas.
- Information service - request copies of the Board�s literature or
add your details to our mailing lists
- Signposting - we can put you in touch with local agencies offering
advice and support.
