26/03/04 Cannock charities windfall
Three charities serving communities in Cannock Chase received a massive boost with the news that the Community Fund has awarded them lottery grants totaling nearly £300,000.

The largest grant goes to Norton Canes Community partnership, who received £137,735. Moorhill Pre-school also received a boost of £99,823 as well as Age Concern South Staffordshire, awarded £57,025 in the latest round of Community Fund grants.

Three local charities serving communities in Walsall received a massive boost with the news that the Community Fund has awarded them lottery grants totaling over £700,000.

30/01/04 Cannock charities receive lottery boost
Two Charities serving communities in Cannock Chase received news that the Community Fund has awarded them lottery grants totalling over half a million pounds. The largest grant goes to Chase Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) who received £288,181, whilst Cannock Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) received £270,083.

The Access Committee for Birmingham has been awarded £200,641 by Lottery distributor the Community Fund to operate a Shopmobility service out of the new Birmingham Bullring Shopping Centre.

11/06/03 North Solihull Community Development Trust awarded £311,000
North Solihull Community Development Trust has been awarded £311,000.00 by Lottery distributor the Community Fund. "This grant is great news for us", said Kim Harper, Chief Executive. "We will be able to build on the work we started when the Trust was set up last July. So far Solihull Council have provided most of the Trusts core funding. We have plans to develop the community newspaper, and our web pages. We will be able to update our computer equipment and offer training to both local people and our staff and volunteers."

11/06/03 Northern Star Community Arts Project awarded £94,852
Northern Star Community Arts Project has been awarded £94,852.00 by a new Lottery consortium. The Community Buildings Trial Programme, currently only available in the West Midlands, is aimed at groups wishing to extend or refurbish existing buildings. Three lottery distributors - the Community Fund, the Arts Council for England and Sport England - have created a joint pot of £2 million.

10/06/03 Burton and District MIND awarded £17,194
Burton and District MIND have been awarded £17,194 by Lottery distributor the Community Fund. "We are a local charity providing a drop in service for people with mental health problems and addictions", explained Marion Hemmerdinger, Co-ordinator. "This award means we can add a conservatory to our building to give us some much needed extra space".

A project to help revitalise Goodrich Village Hall in Herefordshire has been awarded £70,867 by the Community Fund. "We are delighted to have the opportunity to help upgrade this listed building", said Graham Frecknall. "Goodrich Village Hall lies at the heart of a vibrant community and whilst many groups use the hall already, we hope the new facilities will attract more".
