Why applications fail

There are a number of reasons why applications for funding from Community Fund fail. The following is a list of some of the most common ones.
- Organisation is not legally eligible.
- Organisations apply under the wrong grants programme. - Organisations apply to the wrong country or regional office. - Projects do not meet our aim and local priorities. - Management committee members are not fully involved in the planning of the project. - Organisations have not properly considered their users' needs. - The project will not adequately meet users' needs. - Organisations have not consulted with users whether they need the project. - Organisations don't have the skills to carry out the project. - The project hasn't been properly costed. - Organisations can't justify all the costs that they want the grant to pay for. - It isn't clear who will be responsible for running the project. - The organisation doesn't have established financial procedures. - It isn't clear what long-term changes the project will bring about. |
