Some parts of the country are missing out on lottery funds. fair share wants to change that. Community Fund and the New Opportunities Fund will provide guaranteed funding to the places where lottery money is needed the most.
In partnership we will deliver £180 million over the next three years to 77 disadvantaged areas that have not had their fair share of lottery funds. The Community Fund contribution is £92 million over three years.
What will fair share mean?
We have set a financial target in all 77 areas, which aims to make sure they get their fair share of lottery funding. The initiative is being delivered through three strands:
- £92 million from the Community Fund delivered through its current grants programmes and targeted at designated fair share areas, with additional support from a development team
- £38.75 million through fair share: transforming your space for locally-identified 'liveability' projects to improve local environment and amenities in 51 areas across England
- £50 million through the fair share trust being delivered by Community Foundation Network on behalf of the New Opportunities Fund to 69 targeted areas over ten years
Each of these programmes has its own eligibility criteria, priorities and application process, and together they will provide a wide range of funding opportunities for local organisations.
