 HOMEPAGE/ABOUT US/OUR GRANTS PROGRAMMES

Large grants priority information

Because we wish to target our limited resources on those in greatest need we have identified six priority groups for our funding.

They are:

- Children and young people;
- Older people and their carers;
- Disabled people and their carers;
- Black and minority ethnic communities;
- Refugee and asylum seekers; and
- People in areas disadvantaged by social and economic change, whether urban or rural.

fair share

From 2002 to 2005 Community Fund and the New Opportunities Fund will target extra resources on disadvantaged areas that have received less than the average amount of Lottery resources since 1995.

Countryside communities initiative

We have earmarked an extra £10 million over the next five years to support projects that will improve the lives of people in some of our poorest areas. Under this initiative we are targeting eight rural areas in England that haven't yet received their 'fair share' of Lottery funding.
